[TRAINING] Session of our ERC Starting Grant Interview Training Program!
On March 25, 2025, Mission Europe pour la Recherche held the second session of our brand-new interview preparation program— this time for the ERC Starting Grant!
The ERC Starting Grant is one of the most competitive funding schemes for bright early career/junior scientists launching their independent career, supporting the boldest and most innovative scientific projects. To help these researchers ace their final evaluation, we designed a tailored training program covering:
✅ The structure and expectations of the ERC interview
✅ Expert tips for a compelling presentation
✅ Science-based exercises to manage interview stress
✅ A portfolio of potential questions
✅ A mock interview with personalized feedback on content, slides, delivery, and non-verbal communication
Over four hours of intensive training, participants gained invaluable insights and practical strategies. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, reinforcing the impact of this initiative. The next steps? More mock interviews, ensuring our candidates are fully prepared for the ERC panel’s challenging Q&A.
This program is a key milestone in strengthening our support for researchers in securing prestigious ERC funding!
