Register for the support events organised by the ERC Club “CERCLe” (Aix Marseille University and partners CNRS, Inserm, IRD, CEA and Ecole Centrale) for the ERC Starting and Consolidator Grant 2025 calls

As part of the CERCle-MER support, four events for applicants from Aix Marseille Region wishing to apply to the ERC Starting and Consolidator Grant 2025 calls are organised on June 20, July 05, September 13 and November (date tbd), 2024. Participants do not need to be currently employed by a research organisation in the Aix Marseille Region but must apply to be hosted in one of its research institutes.

ERC Starting Grant calls 2025 target researchers who have successfully defended their first PhD between 1 January 2018 and 31 December 2022 (inclusive).[1]

ERC Consolidator Grant calls 2025 target researchers who have successfully defended their first PhD between 1 January 2013 and 31 December 2017 (inclusive).[1]

[1] Please note the eligibility periods can be extended beyond 7 and 12 years for certain situations. More information can be found in the ERC work programme.

THIRD EVENT - WRITING WORKSHOP - STARTING

In-person writing workshop where participants bring their own project proposals and ideas and learn to structure them in line with the ERC grant types.

  • What: In-person grant writing workshop
  • When: 13 September 2024, 09h00-17h00
  • Trainer: D. Karlin, PhD, external consultant
  • Target audience: Applicants and prospective applicants engaged in an ERC application process for the 2025 or 2026 calls for Starting 
  • Where: MER, Campus Centre, downtown Marseille, France
  • Language: English and French
  • Requirements: Participants are required to have a well drafted idea and proposal, to be engaged in an application process to an ERC Starting upcoming call, to be eligible to that call, and to have sent the required written documents to the trainer a few weeks before the workshop (eg, abstract, key words…)
  • Number of places: Maximum 8 participants, registration mandatory (see below)
  • Selection: Based on pre-requirement conditions and eligibility to the call, number of places and registered participants, if need be, balance of disciplines, diversity aspects (equal opportunities), etc.

FOURTH EVENT - WRITING WORKSHOP - CONSOLIDATOR

In-person writing workshop where participants bring their own project proposals and ideas and learn to structure them in line with the ERC grant types.

  • When: November 2024, 09h00-17h00 – exact date to be announced
  • Trainer: D. Karlin, PhD, external consultant
  • Target audience: Applicants and prospective applicants engaged in an ERC application process for the 2025 or 2026 calls for Consolidator
  • Where: MER, Campus Centre, downtown Marseille, France
  • Language: English and French
  • Requirements: Participants are required to have a well drafted idea and proposal, to be engaged in an application process to an ERC Starting or Consolidator upcoming call, to be eligible to that call, and to have sent the required written documents to the trainer a few weeks before the workshop (eg, abstract, key words, reply to some questions…)
  • Number of places: Maximum 8 participants, registration mandatory (link to registration form coming after the summer)
  • Selection: Based on pre-requirement conditions and eligibility to the call, number of places and registered participants, if need be, balance of disciplines, diversity aspects (equal opportunities), etc

 

At Aix Marseille, extensive grant preparation support is offered by specialized staff at the Mission Europe pour la Recherche (MER), the newly established EU grants office for Aix Marseille University, CNRS, Inserm and IRD, together with the ERC National Contact Point.

These events are organised as part on the CERCLe, to support ERC applicants wanting to apply to one of our research institutes.

Registration is free but mandatory. Please note that the events are reserved for researchers and teaching scientists within Aix Marseille Region.
