The Mission Europe pour la Recherche (MER) at the INORMS 2025 congress in Madrid
The Mission Europe pour la Recherche (MER) took part for the first time in the INORMS (International Network of Research Management Societies) congress, held from May 6 to 8, 2025 at the IFEMA Conference Center in Madrid, organized by the EARMA association
.
With over 2,200 participants and 250 speakers, this 2025 edition of the INORMS congress was marked by the high quality of its organization and exchanges. The rich and varied program addressed major themes such as:
- Key competencies in research management;
- The integration of generative AI into professional practices;
- Open science, the valorization of knowledge, governance and associated regulations.
Highlights included high-level keynote speeches, exchange sessions (round tables, panels), collaborative workshops and Working Group (WG) meetings, whose work is directly relevant to the MER's fields of action.
Strategic meetings and an international outlook
MER's participation was also an opportunity to meet representatives from European universities, and from other continents, to share best practices, and to renew ties with partner colleagues within an evolving global network.
This first participation confirms the importance for MER of making a lasting commitment to the European and international dynamics of research management. It also marks our desire to:
- Strengthen our contribution to the EARMA network, through active involvement in the Working Groups;
- Participate again in the annual EARMA congress from 2026.
We would like to thank the organizers for the quality of this event, which was both inspiring, structuring and full of opportunities.
